The Foundation for Black Women’s Wellness (FFBWW) is seeking a Health and Wellness Programs Manager to help advance our commitment to Empowering a Generation of Well Black Women. This position will play a key role in realizing our organization’s mission to energize, mobilize and support Black Women to transform their lives through education, advocacy, and powerful partnerships. 

The Health & Wellness Programs Manager will be responsible for managing a specific portfolio of the Foundation's health promotion, education and wellness programs, including day-to-day programmatic functions, managing and coordinating program design, implementation, participant outreach and engagement, and reporting responsibilities.

Specifically, the Health & Wellness Programs Manager will be responsible to:

  • Manage and coordinate the Foundation’s core wellness programs including planning, implementation, outreach and recruitment, participant engagement, communication, and evaluation. 
  • Co-lead the overall design of FFBWW’s wellness programming and community outreach and engagement strategy that aims to improve participant health and mind-body-spirit-financial well-being.
  • Manage and monitor the day-to-day of all programming to ensure smooth implementation, progress, and tracking of impacts; ensure quality of services delivered and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Promote FFBWW wellness programs to target population and community through active, ongoing communications efforts and campaigns; work to consistently grow participation and engagement in FFBWW programming.
  • Design and lead implementation of signature program events including in-person and virtual programming; assist with other organizational special events planning and programming as needed.
  • Design, prepare and edit communications that amplify our wellness brand.
  • Co-manage website, social channels, and marketing/branding identity and positioning of programs for maximum visibility and participant/community engagement.
  • Create and manage online learning resources and platforms supporting community building that centers well-being, healing, growth and optimal health, and deepens participant engagement with FFBWW.
  • Create regular motivational emails and social media, participant check-ins, tracking of results and data collection/post-program evaluation to measure effectiveness
  • Develop program success metrics and perform periodic assessments and reporting of program success. 

  • Develop, implement and improve policies, procedures and practices for managing  program and reporting responsibilities.
  • Work collaboratively with the FFBWW team to support internal program systems and processes, including oversight of program staff, contractors, vendors, interns and volunteers.
  • Support grant writing and reporting for programming area.


  • Bachelor’s degree required and 5 years minimum experience in a related role.
  • A passionate advocate for Black Women’s health, and commitment to bringing women and partners together to improve the health of Black Women, families, and communities;
  • An experienced professional with background in program design and management, outcomes measurement, and design and execution of evaluation strategies, social research, community building and outreach, and impact assessment;
  • Knowledge of public and community health principles and ability to integrate best practices in FFBWW programming to achieve intended health improvement outcomes. 
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with frequent changing priorities;
  • Exceptional organizational, analytical and problem solving skills—must be able to think on your feet and outside the box;
  • A strong team player and self-starter with a desire to take on new challenges; Time management skills are a must; must be flexible and able to work outside of normal business hours;
  • Excellent organizational and leadership abilities, impeccable communication and people skills.
  • Working knowledge of data management, analysis and performance metrics
  • Firm grasp of MS Office, Google Business Suite, and various business and project management software.

Job Details

This is a full-time benefits-eligible position with a starting minimum salary of $45,000 per year.

The FFBWW office is located at 6601 Grand Teton Plaza, Suite A2, Madison, WI 53719. This position will be based out of the Black Women’s Wellness Center.
