Sandy Charles, MD

Dr. Sandy Charles is a board-certified cardiologist and medical director of the Novant Health Women’s Heart & Vascular Center.  She attended Princeton University for college where she majored in Molecular Biology.  She then attended medical school at Columbia University.  She completed her residency in internal medicine at Columbia University-New York Presbyterian Hospital and subsequently completed her cardiology fellowship at New York University Medical Center.  In addition to being board certified in cardiovascular disease, Dr. Charles is also board certified in echocardiography, nuclear medicine, and internal medicine.  She received the distinction of Top Doctor in 2020 by Charlotte Magazine.  She is a television medical contributor with many TV appearances on health related issues.  She specializes in a variety of cardiac disorders including coronary disease, heart failure, pregnancy related heart disease, valvular heart disease, cholesterol disorders, and arrhythmias.  She is passionate about educating the public about healthy living and enjoys using her Instagram account @drsandycharles to provide her 11,000 followers with health tips.

Get informed, inspired, and empowered to protect your heart, boost your personal fitness, and hear the stories of survivors and others committed to living well at every stage of life.

PREVENTION is our focus, and increased SURVIVORSHIP of those living with a cardiovascular condition.
