Oluwadara (Dara) Durosomo is Dallas, Texas born and Miramar, Florida raised. As a result of her family originating from Nigeria, as an Undergrad, Dara decided to combine her passions for African Studies and Public Health by double-majoring in Public Health and International Studies at the University of Florida (UF). She is currently in her final semester of the UF MPH program, with a concentration in Social and Behavioral Sciences. Over time she has grown a passion and interest in cultural competency, health communications, and health literacy. She is especially interested in the topic areas of sexual health and health disparities. During her internship with FFBWW, Dara is excited about working with a population she identifies with to help close the gaps. Her goal is to be able to apply her knowledge as well as build new public health skills with the Foundation. Dara hopes to discover new interests and become a better advocate for Black women in Wisconsin and around the world.
