Tifene Brown is an experienced executive in higher education and public service. Tifene has twelve years of work as a Senior Probation and Parole Agent for the State of Wisconsin Division of Community Corrections (DCC). In this role, she  assisted individuals in completing treatment, gaining employment, and other court-ordered conditions. She was proactive in seeking alternatives to help struggling clients remain in the community. In 2016, Tifene transitioned from the Department of Corrections (DOC) to pursue a career in higher education. Tifene returned to state service as the first-ever Equity & Inclusion Chief / Program & Policy Advisor with DOC. This position provides research, policy analysis, and guidance to the Office of the Secretary on orders, requirements, and efforts related to equity and inclusion impacting the agency. Before return to state service, she served as the Assistant Director for Student Success and then as Director of Student Success in 2021 at Alverno College. The Assistant Director role was a newly created position, focusing on diversity and inclusion with a financial equity lens aimed at retention efforts for underserved students at Alverno College. Tifene was privileged to build this position taught me to be self-motivated, work independently, exercise sound judgment, collaborate with others throughout the university, and value stakeholders' perspectives inside and outside the college.
