Help Us Secure Our Work and A New Home

Our Black Women’s Wellness Center has always been more than walls. It is a place of healing, strength, and belonging for Black women, our families and our community. As we navigate an unexpected and disruptive move, we need your help to keep this vital work stable, thriving, and growing.

Why We Need Your Urgent Support

For more than a decade, the Foundation for Black Women’s Wellness has worked to eliminate health disparities and other barriers impacting the lives of women, families and communities. Each year, thousands of women and families walk through the doors of our Black Women’s Wellness Center finding care, connection, advocacy, and the resources to live healthier, longer lives.

Our Center is more than an office space. It’s a home for Black women’s health. It is a place to gather, learn, be seen, and be supported.

Since opening our space in 2020 with community support, your generosity has helped us house our team to carry out our essential work; to support women and families with critical health services, stabilizing resources, and holistic wellness programs that improve their lives; to convene local, statewide, and national leaders – including a former First Lady of the United States — to inform and shape solutions that drive health equity for all; and to maintain our position as a critical leader in advancing Black women's health in Wisconsin.

How You Can Help Today

Today, we face a challenge. The philanthropic climate is tough, and like many nonprofits, we are working harder than ever to sustain stability in a time of great uncertainty.

On top of this, we recently learned that our physical office space will be sold and converted to an apartment building, requiring us to vacate unexpectedly by early spring 2026. Without strong support from our community, this disruption could impact the critical programs and advocacy that the women and families we serve count on every day.

This is where you come in.

Now more than ever, your generosity matters. Your donation provides the flexibility, strength, and stability we need to protect our mission during this transition and beyond.

"I am a long-term supporter of the Foundation for Black Women’s Wellness. The Foundation provides Black women experiencing challenges with the support and care they need, so they can not only survive, but thrive. Many women have few places to turn, and I especially value how the Foundation treats Black women with dignity and shows them that they are valued and that there is a community they can depend on. That is life affirming and is a great gift that I am pleased to be able to support."
