I became a FFBWW Ambassador in 2017. I want the community to know that I am a global citizen who believes our stories are our greatest power. Speaking three languages and living across different borders has taught me that no matter how tough or isolating the journey gets, we are never truly alone when we have each other. I am here in Madrid to listen, to lift as I climb, and to remind every sister that her resilience is beautiful, but her well being is essential.
My main goal this year is to put FFBWW on the map here in Madrid where I live, and start building a strong, supportive network of Black women in the city. Living abroad has taught me how isolating it can be to navigate a new system, a new country, and I know how badly our community here needs a safe space to focus on mental health, healing, and emotional well-being for the black community especially black women. This year, I want to use my background and my languages to connect with as many Black women in Madrid as I can, bringing us together, sharing practical wellness tools. I want to make sure the women here feel completely seen, supported, and empowered to prioritize their own wellness.
Being a FFBWW Wellness Ambassador means being the bridge I wish I had when I first moved abroad. Navigating life in a new country can be incredibly tough and isolating. This role allows me to turn my own challenges into a source of strength for other Black women. It’s my opportunity to remind the sisterhood here in Madrid that our well being is a priority, and that no matter where we are in the world, we don't have to carry the weight alone.
