My name is Alexandra Van Fleet with she/her/hers pronouns. My hometown is Muskego, Wisconsin. I attended the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee for my undergraduate degree and graduated in December of 2020. I have my Bachelors in Healthcare Administration with a Business minor and a Healthcare Informatics certificate. In my undergraduate career I served as the Vice President of the Future Healthcare Executives club on campus as well as served as a Student Undergraduate Research Fellow. With my research I worked directly with Dr. Kaboni Gondwe where we analyzed the health impacts of Kangaroo Care between mothers and infants in Malawi. I am a rising second year candidate at the University of Wisconsin Madison in the Master of Public Health program. My interests are in healthcare administration, reproductive justice, maternal and child health, and diversity, equity and inclusion in healthcare. My goals as a professional include working in the population health sector of a hospital, or conducting policy research. I am so excited to gain experience in policy and research how policy directly impacts health outcomes. I look forward to improving my research skills and continuing to better my allyship with Black women.
