Brevie Holiday is a rising junior at Spelman College majoring in Health Science on the pre-medical track. Originally from Orangeburg, South Carolina, she is passionate about improving health outcomes in underserved communities, especially in rural areas. Through this internship with the Foundation for Black Women's Wellness, she hopes to learn how to assist women with access to resources beyond clinical care, and to better understand how community-based programs are developed and sustained for long-term impact. She is interested in how the FFBWW works to address maternal mortality, low infant birth weight, and overall wellness.
Brevie is NCCT certified in medical assisting, phlebotomy, and EKG, and volunteers at a clinic, where she supports patient intake and care delivery. With plans to become a physician, she looks forward to applying the knowledge gained through this experience to promote equity and holistic care for Black women and families.
