Cali is a Junior at the University of Wisconsin-Madison pursuing a degree in Global Health, complemented by certificates in Health Policy, Scientific Communication, and Environmental Studies. Originally from a rural area of Wisconsin, Cali is a passionate advocate for public health and health equity. She is particularly interested in maternal and child health outcomes, and her passion is driven by a desire to understand the social determinants of health and how they impact equitable access to resources like healthcare, housing, and nutrition.
Cali is thrilled to be working with the Foundation for Black Women's Wellness through her role as an Undergraduate Project Intern with the Institute for Research on Poverty at UW-Madison. She contributes directly to the Madison Forward Fund 2.0 (MFF2.0), an innovative guaranteed income program specifically designed to enhance health, opportunity, and wellness outcomes for Black women and families in Dane County. Through this experience, Cali hopes to gain invaluable skills in sustaining community-based programs that extend beyond clinical care.
Ultimately, she is focused on setting herself up for becoming the best public health professional she can be, equipped to promote equity and better serve the communities she works with in the future.
