Hello everyone! I am Kayla Brown, a rising sophomore at Spelman College majoring in Biology on a Pre-Med track. I am a proud product of Greenwood, MS, the heart of the Mississippi Delta. I grew up in a very loving household led by two amazing parents who have inspired me to aim for nothing less than the stars. I aspire to become the nation's top surgeon, tackling the health disparities within the African American Community. In my pursuit of academic, moral, social, and civic excellence as a black woman, I am invested in intellectual work because I understand that, at its core, intellectual work will empower me to grow in my awareness of the world around me and in how I respond to it. The Foundation for Black Women’s Wellness will allow me to develop a deeper intellectual and spiritual connection with my passion for black women’s wellness. I am beyond elated to join an organization of women and men who share the same passion and dedication as we work to ensure the wellbeing of God’s greatest creation, the Black Woman.
